Splitting the Sox

We had a 4 game split over the weekend against the White Sox in Chicago.

The first game, we lost 5-3. We were down 4-0 when Dustin hit a three run home run to get us to within 1 but we just simply ran out of innings. Lester took the loss going 7 innings and allowing 4 runs.

The second game, we won 6-2 as Ellsbury hit another home run and Big Papi had 3 rbi's and went 3 for 5. DiceK looked about as good as I had ever seen him and he went 8 innings only giving up 4 hits and 1 run.

The third game, we lost 6-5 even after we scored 3 runs in the first inning off of a Mike Lowell 3 run home run. Buchholz just looked horrible and he went just 3 innings and gave up 5 runs. I think he is done. He needs to go back to AAA or AA and work on things some. Hopefully, we will have Colon back soon and he can fill in Clay's spot in the rotation.

The final game of the series, we won 5-1. We didn't get our first hit until the 7th inning but then we started to pile them on. Beckett allowed just one run over 8 innings to get the win. We now have a three game set with Texas at home.
